Interactive Data Dashboard

The Chicago Arts Census team is excited to share the interactive data dashboard created with information shared by the arts workers of Chicagoland! This dashboard is part of the larger reporting phase that includes a written account of key observations, a collection of stories shared by arts workers, and public programs and events aimed at helping arts workers connect to their data and each other. This dashboard is is best viewed on a desktop screen.

This dashboard is made up of data points that we think will help form deeper understandings of the living and working conditions of arts workers. We are sharing a lot of data in hopes that a very wide range of arts workers, researchers, policy makers, funders, supporters, and peopleĀ in general will find usefulĀ information in this tool.

The dashboard has twelve pages of information and two distinct data sections. The first seven pages of data are static data visualizations presented in thematic groupings.

The second set of data pages are filterable, meaning you can set parameters so that the data you see reflects all the respondents, just one category of respondents (e.g. performing artists), or a specific combination of categories that you choose (e.g. performing artists, visual artists, architects and designers).

We strongly recommend starting by reading our Framing the Census and How to Use This Dashboard pages. These pages offer important context and helpful tips for using the Chicago Arts Census's data dashboard.
